Honoring Our Heroes: Banner Sponsorship Details

The Bryan Area Chamber of Commerce Hometown Hero Banner Program is a community tribute created to recognize and honor active-duty Bryan service members who are currently serving in the military branches of the United States.

Cost: $150 Per 2-Sided Banner

Each banner is two-sided and will be displayed on a designated pole in Bryan, OH. Banners will be displayed from March through November and will remain in the scheduled pole rotation for the duration of the service member’s active-duty status. Once a service member has been discharged, the banner will be removed and retained by the Chamber for the sponsor to pick up within one month.

Anyone may sponsor a banner for an active Bryan service member or assist in securing a sponsor. The Bryan Area Chamber of Commerce does not obtain sponsors and is unable to sponsor banners. Sponsor wording is limited to two lines of text, and logos are not permitted. Only one (1) banner per service member is allowed.

Sponsor Wording Examples:

"Mom & Dad Smith"
"Grandpa & Grandma"
"The Entire Smith Family"
"Jane & Bob Doe"

Completion of the Hometown Hero online application is required before any banner order is placed. A proof will be provided for review and approval is required prior to printing. No banner will be printed until full payment is received.

Banners are 24" x 48" and made of heavy-duty vinyl, resembling the sample banner shown above. Each banner will be printed identically on both sides and will include the service member’s photograph, first and last name, military branch, and sponsor name(s).

All service members must be residents of Bryan, Ohio (when not in service). All banners will display the wording “Bryan Hometown Hero.” Military rank will not be listed.

West Unity American Legion Riders Post #669

The Blue Star Banner was designed and patented in 1917. This banner became the unofficial symbol for parents with a child in active military service.

Today families display these banners in their windows, when they have a loved one serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
